A Wine List Guests Can Talk To
By Compliance Vine® · · 2 min read
On a slow Tuesday, there is time for the full conversation. Your host walks a guest through the flight, tells the story behind the Petit Verdot and learns that they are cooking lamb this weekend.
On a Saturday in October, that same host has several tables and a line at the register. The guests at table four still want to explore. Giving them another way to ask about the wine can keep that curiosity going until the host returns.
Put a conversation beside the wine list
AI Sommelier® can run on a tasting-room tablet or be opened from a QR code. Guests confirm their age and explore wines from your configured list, with bottle tiles, tasting information and suggestions they can ask about in plain language.
“Which of these is closest to a Rhône red?” “What would work with a spicy dinner?” “I liked the second wine in the flight. What else should I try?”
The sommelier uses your catalog and broader wine information to support its answers. Your team can review the experience with the wines and questions guests actually encounter in the room.
Save the bottles worth coming back to
Guests can add bottles to My list and show their selections to a host or server. That gives the next conversation a useful starting point: these are the wines they liked and want to discuss.
The saved list helps a guest choose. The actual purchase, shipping arrangements or club enrollment continue through the winery's configured process. Those next steps should be demonstrated and agreed during setup, so staff know what the guest has completed and what still needs their help.
On a shared tablet, the New guest control clears the previous session before the next party begins.
Make it part of the room
Start with Wi-Fi, a tablet or QR code, and a catalog that reflects what you want guests to explore. Decide where the device belongs, how staff will introduce it and who checks it before service.
The on-site exploration mode does not require a shipping address to browse. If a guest later chooses delivery, the normal order and shipping process collects the information that transaction needs.
The website widget uses the same product family to help people explore online. Both experiences should reflect your wine list and the way you want guests to be welcomed.
Try the tablet experience
On the AI Sommelier page, choose “Try the tablet version” and explore the demonstration as a guest would. A follow-up conversation can cover your catalog, devices and the next step from a saved list to a purchase.
The host brings the hospitality. The tablet gives a curious guest another way to keep discovering your wine.
